Bagri Foundation presents 30 Artists, 30 Years, consisting of thirty interviews with visual artists, musicians, performers, academics, journalists, writers and storytellers whose work has been supported by the Bagri Foundation or the Bagri family since 1990. The interview series shows the long-term commitment of the Foundation to engage with diverse and dynamic ideas through myriad arts and culture programmes which challenge and inspire.
From 1 June, in its 30th anniversary year, the Bagri Foundation will share short interviews over the coming weeks through our social media channels and on our website. The project re-visits those who have forged a connection to the Foundation and family over the years and see how they have continued to make work, research and keep creating during such a unique year. The aim is to delve into the foundation’s broad scope of activity via the archive, reconnect with the interviewees’ practices, and form a vision for the future of Asian arts and culture together.
‘It’s been a pleasure to look back at our exciting projects and revisit artists with whom we had the pleasure to work at varying stages of their careers. It truly reflects the diversity of our aims, and we look forward to continuing to work with more artists and partners in the coming years!’ — Alka Bagri, Trustee of the Bagri Foundation
Follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and visit our Stories section of our website to find out about the artists as we release their interviews.

Notes to Editors:
About the Bagri Foundation
The Bagri Foundation, established in 1990, is a family foundation spanning three generations. Through projects, grants and scholarships, the Foundation supports education, the advancement of health, poverty relief and the promotion of arts and culture from across the Asian continent. The Foundation’s Arts and Culture programme’s mission is to realise unique, unexpected ideas that weave traditional Asian culture with contemporary thinking.
Through a diverse programme of film, visual arts, music, dance, literature, courses and lectures, we give artists and experts from across Asia, or those inspired by the continent, wider visibility on the global stage.
We work with a community of partners from all walks of life, who share our vision to engage, inspire and encourage learning. Partners include major educational institutions such as the London School of Economics, the London Business School, the School of Oriental and African Studies and The University of Oxford. Through a diverse public programme of arts projects, the Foundation has worked with the Science Museum, the Ashmolean, the Barbican, Southbank Centre, The British Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of New York and La Biennale de Venezia.
Our health and education grants have included long-term support for grassroots organisations such as Think Equal, who create teacher guides and books across 13 countries which focus on social and emotional learning for 3-6 year olds; and Lily Against Human Trafficking, who works with NGOS in India against human trafficking through prevention, rescue and rehabilitation. Over the last three years, the Bagri Foundation’s grants and scholarships have touched the lives of an estimated 1.4 million people.
